The Legal Reality: Under the 8th Amendment, a Warden cannot be sued for simple mistakes. But a Warden can be sued personally when he has actual knowledge of a substantial risk of serious harm and chooses to ignore it (Farmer v. Brennan).
The Notice: The viral outcry, combined with the dozens of calls to your office and the “Next Friend” emergency filings sent to your legal department, proves that you possess Actual Knowledge that:
- Conrad Rockenhaus suffered a traumatic brain injury during his arrest.
- FCI Milan lacks the neurological capacity to treat him.
- He is actively dying in your SHU (solitary confinement).
The Warning: By choosing to keep Conrad in the SHU after being placed on undeniable public notice of his medical crisis, you have moved beyond “policy” and into Personal Liability.

FCI Milan Retaliates: Epileptic Veteran Thrown in Solitary Confinement (SHU) After Warden Exposed
From Adrienne Rockenhaus: Less than 24 hours after we published the report naming Warden Eric Rardin for medical neglect, my husband Conrad Rockenhaus has been moved to the Special Housing Unit (SHU).
This is a Death Sentence.
Conrad Rockenhaus suffers from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Grand Mal Seizures. In the general population, he has cellmates who can call for help. In the SHU, he is alone in a concrete box.
The Medical Reality
If he has a seizure in solitary, no one will hear him. If he vomits and aspirates, he will die alone. He has been cut off from all phone communication with his family and legal team. To the BOP North Central Regional Office (Kansas): We know you are reading this website.
You are now on notice: Warden Rardin has placed a dying seizure patient with an untreated head injury in unmonitored isolation after U.S. Marshals violently beat him in the head during an illegal raid on my home. If my husband, Conrad Rockenhaus, is injured or dies in that cell, it is not an accident. It is Deliberate Indifference.
